In December we read a variety of stories about The
Gingerbread Man. The kindergartners worked on retelling the
beginning, middle, and end of the story; comparing and contrasting the
different versions (for ex. the gingerbread boy gets eaten by the fox, but the
gingerbread girl survives by lassoing the fox’s snout shut!), as well as designing
a trap to catch that fast gingerbread man before he runs away! We
celebrated our study of the story of the Gingerbread Man by decorating (and
eating!) our own gingerbread cookies. Ask your child what they ate first – the
head, arms or feet?!
